The Real American Spirit: Gratitude, Grit, and Global Opportunity

Today I traveled from United States to Mexico on a business trip with a social impact group, and before I even left the airport, I witnessed something powerful — the American spirit in motion.
Even in the midst of a government shutdown, TSA officers were there, early in the morning, focused and courteous, keeping travelers safe. They showed up not for applause or paychecks, but for duty. Watching them reminded me of what truly makes America great: the quiet determination of people who keep the country moving forward, no matter what.
The American Spirit at Work
That same resilience defines the American business landscape. It’s the culture of innovation, responsibility, and optimism that has built one of the strongest economies in the world. American companies don’t just aim to succeed — they aim to serve, to create value, and to build opportunities for others.
And this is precisely why foreign companies should look to the United States as a home for investment and growth.
The U.S. offers not only economic stability and innovation infrastructure, but also a workforce driven by values — people who take pride in their work, show up through challenges, and believe in something bigger than themselves.
Investing in America means becoming part of a tradition that values hard work, creativity, and community. It means helping strengthen the economy that, in turn, supports global progress.

A Personal Reflection
As I reflect on this during my travels, I thank God for the opportunity to have been shaped by these values. Growing up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, I attended the Inter American Academy, where I received an American education that taught me to think critically, dream big, and lead with integrity.
Those lessons shaped my life and career. They also gave me a deep respect for what the United States represents — not just for Americans, but for the world.
Why America Still Leads
The reason America remains a global role model is simple: it continues to inspire others to build, create, and believe. When foreign companies invest here, they’re not just opening offices — they’re joining a community of innovators, builders, and believers who push humanity forward.
So to all the TSA officers, public servants, workers, and business leaders who embody this American spirit — thank you. And to every company considering where to expand next, look to the United States — not only as a market, but as a partner in shaping a better world.
God bless America, and may its example continue to inspire nations to follow its standards of dignity, excellence, and opportunity for all.
